Permaculture
is an ethical design science for creating sustainable human environments. It is a holistic design system in which other disciplines fit. Permaculture serves as a toolbox, and it is up to the designer to select the appropriate tool for the job. Permaculture principles can be applied at any scale, from entire bioregions to a small balcony. We believe permaculture is the ideal system for building a resilient community of abundance.

Permaculture integrates land, resources, people and the environment through mutually beneficial synergies – imitating the no waste, closed-loop systems seen in diverse natural systems. Permaculture studies and applies holistic solutions that are applicable in rural and urban contexts at any scale. It is a multi-disciplinary toolbox including agriculture, water harvesting and hydrology, energy, natural building, forestry, waste management, animal systems, aquaculture, appropriate technology, economics and community development.
We believe healthy communities begin with healthy soil, clean water, and equitable access to food, knowledge, and opportunity.
A resilient community starts with local food security.
